The Arts Factory is a mixed-use arts facility located in a transformed warehouse at 281 Industrial Avenue. This cultural hub includes 21,000 square feet of workshops, studios, offices and common spaces.
The Arts Factory houses studios for a mix of emerging and established artists. We also offer short and long-term office spaces for Vancouver's cultural community.
Our building also has an event space, the Hallway Gallery, suitable for exhibitions, openings, artist talks, readings or other arts events. Please note: ONLY arts events can be held in our space. This space is a long hallway/corridor with high ceilings and white walls. Capacity is 100 people. This event space is fully accessible and has access to a kitchen and washrooms.

Because of our zoning (Light Industrial), if your event will include more than 30 people, you must apply for and obtain an Arts Events License from the City of Vancouver. |Rental Policy||The Arts Factory Hallway Gallery is a 1400 square foot space in a transformed warehouse with a concrete floor, white walls, and adjustable gallery lighting. It is available to rent for arts events only with a capacity of 100 people or fewer. As the number of events we can hold per month is extremely restricted by zoning laws,availability is limited and at the discretion of the Arts Factory. Event rentals are$400 / day for a 4 pm – 12 am rental time. Your set up and tear down time must be included in these eight hours. It is possible to add additional hours, if needed. Rentals include: Non-exclusive use of the Hallway Gallery, kitchen and washrooms (The Arts Factory is home to working artist studios and our artists have access 24 hours a day. Depending on the time of your rental, artists may need to access the shared areas and there may be some noise transference from the studios. Having said that, we notify everyone in the building well in advance and they generally avoid the hallway space when there are events.) Venue manager on site during event for general security and information. Use of our portable sound system with one microphone and mic stand. Can play from a laptop or mobile device, either plugged in or using bluetooth. Our two-piece curved bar. This is non-negotiable and your event will be shut down if you do not have adequate staff or volunteers working the door. A certificate of insurance is required. Note for business renters -this is often free of charge from your insurance provider if you already have commercial business insurance. At the end of your rental, the Hallway Gallery, including any walls altered for the hanging of art, must be returned to their original condition. Any clean up or repairs required will be billed to the renter.|
